EMDR Intensives in Dallas, Texas
Online therapy in TX, FL, LA, VA
A focused approach to heal
Focused therapy to help you heal deeply—without years of weekly sessions.
You’re functioning well in many areas of your life. You understand your patterns and may have skills for when you’re triggered or feeling anxious.
But certain triggers, memories, or beliefs still feel stuck. You don't want to just talk about it in therapy- you want to feel better.
EMDR intensives offer a structured, supported way to move through trauma and anxiety faster while still honoring your pace and capacity.
Why Clients Seek EMDR Intensives
You might recognize yourself here:
→You’ve been in therapy before but the core pain still feels active
→You understand why you react, but your body still reacts anyway
→Trauma, divorce, or relational wounds still shape how safe you feel
→You’re exhausted by perfectionism, over-responsibility, or self-blame
→Weekly therapy feels too slow or disrupted by life demands
→You want focused healing time without long-term weekly therapy
Many of my Dallas EMDR intensive clients are high-functioning, insightful adults who are tired of carrying unresolved experiences. Traditional 50-minute sessions often allow only about 30 minutes of EMDR reprocessing once opening/closing are included. That can make deeper trauma work feel fragmented or slow.
EMDR Therapy Intensives are a way to condense therapeutic progress and overcome struggles and reduce or eliminate symptoms more quickly.
EMDR Intensives in Dallas Are Especially Good For
- Trauma or PTSD
-Divorce or relational trauma
-Persistent negative beliefs (“I’m not enough,” “I can’t trust”)
-Professionals or therapists who want efficient therapy
-People traveling to Dallas for focused healing time
What’s different about EMDR intensives than weekly sessions
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) helps the brain naturally reprocess overwhelming memories and beliefs so they feel resolved rather than activating.
In an intensive format, this work becomes more efficient and contained.
Extended time to fully process a memory in one sitting
Fewer stops/starts between sessions
Faster symptom reduction or relief
Dedicated healing time away from daily stressors
Integration support before and after processing
Research and clinical experience show EMDR intensives can be as effective as weekly therapy while achieving results faster.
What an EMDR Intensive Looks Like
3–6 hour therapy blocks
1–3 consecutive days or clustered sessions
In-person in Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas or online in TX/FL/LA/VA
Individualized treatment plan and pacing
EMDR intensives condense therapeutic progress into a shorter timeframe while addressing trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and problematic coping patterns.
Meet your Dallas EMDR intensive therapist
Hi, I’m Michelle Spurgeon, LCSW-S. I’m a trauma therapist in Dallas specializing in relational trauma, divorce recovery, and anxiety. As an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I bring advanced training and experience in complex trauma, attachment wounds, and relational injury to intensive work.
Clients often tell me they feel:
deeply understood
gently guided but not pushed
safe enough to finally process
relieved by how much shifts in intensives
I offer EMDR intensives because many thoughtful, high-functioning adults don’t need years of therapy. They need focused, skilled trauma processing in a supportive container.
What makes intensives with me different
→Relational safety first
We build enough internal and relational stability so processing feels supported—not overwhelming.
→Pacing matched to your needs
Some memories resolve quickly. Others need titration. We follow your capacity, not a rigid protocol.
→Integration-focused
We prepare before intensive days and support consolidation afterward so gains last.
→Complex trauma informed
Especially helpful for childhood trauma, divorce/relational trauma, shame, and identity wounds.
→ EMDR expertise as an intensive therapist
I have invested in ongoing consultation, training, and certifications in EMDR therapy to provide the best support to my clients. Through my credentials with EMDR International Association, I provide consultation for and mentor other EMDR therapists, which brings advanced case conceptualization to your work.

Research shows EMDR Intensives can be just as effective as weekly EMDR therapy. However EMDR Intensives allow you to make these gains in a much shorter timeframe.
In addition to having more hours of therapy in a shorter timeframe, more time is spent on treatment to resolve symptoms. This helps you move towards symptom reduction or elimination faster. Weekly 50 minute EMDR sessions often involve the therapist spending time opening the session, and time at the end of sessions containing and closing the incomplete session. This leaves about 30 minutes of EMDR reprocessing a session.
-
Half-day intensives are $750 (3 hours of therapy) and full day intensives are $1,500 (6 hours of therapy per day) when held on weekdays. Weekend intensives are available for: $850 half-days (3 hours therapy), or $1,700 full day (6 hours therapy). Medical or Mental Health Insurance often does not cover or reimburse the cost of EMDR Intensives at this time.
I charge a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold the dates for the intensive. This is applied to the balance of your intensive. The remaining balance is due the first day of session.
-
Clients may reschedule the intensive one week prior to the scheduled date of the intensive without penalty. If client completes the EMDR Intensive, the deposit is applied to their Intensive cost.
