Meet Krista Bass
Dallas Trauma Therapist
Therapy to find self-compassion, freedom & fulfillment,
in your own time.
Clients turning to therapy are often smart, vibrant people who find it difficult to show up fully in their day-to-day lives at school or work, with friends, or at home. They struggle to navigate their lives and find the success they are capable of. They share that they are:
Frustrated with rarely feeling heard
Grieving over the loss of a friendship or relationship
Having a tough time relating to people in their community
Hesitant to trust anyone because of how they’ve been hurt
Feeling alone even when surrounded by people – whether because of their interests, their identity, or the intensity of their emotions
Hard on themselves even when they know they haven’t done anything wrong
In therapy, my clients learn to see their experiences are unique and valid, and that they can heal from hurt.
My Approach
I thoroughly enjoy working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic health issues, ADHD, Autism, religious trauma, and all LGBTQIA+ related issues. I work with adults and teens in our Dallas, Texas office or online throughout Texas.
I offer a non-judgmental, safe space for you to be you, express yourself, and experience your emotions as you need. I believe that when we are given such a space, we will naturally begin to see ourselves more clearly and find healing.
Through the use of EMDR therapy, techniques from Coherence Therapy, and supportive talk-therapy, I aim to help you remove the barriers that have kept you stuck, allowing your brain and body to do what it does best: heal.
When we’re stuck in shame, we tend to make a series of decisions that land us in further shame, creating a painful cycle. I believe that when we are able to find compassion for ourselves, our limitations, and our past actions, we are able to rid ourselves of shame, and begin showing up in the world as we would like to.
My goal is always to work collaboratively with you to identify what you want therapy to look like, and how quickly you’d like to progress. Our process together starts with getting to know you and what your goals are before we start building strategies to help you cope with everyday stressors. We can move towards EMDR therapy work to support deeper work.
I’m so glad you found me. Let’s take care of you.

More about Krista
-
I am a Licensed Master of Social Work in Texas (#114138) under clinical supervision with Michelle Spurgeon, LCSW-S. I provide in-person therapy in Dallas or online sessions for anyone in Texas.
-
I am training in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), and have completed introductory and intermediate training in Coherence Therapy.
-
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphasis in Psychology, Sociology, and Christian Studies from California Baptist University. I earned my Masters in Social Work (MSW) with an emphasis on Mental Health and Substance Misuse from University of Texas at Arlington.
-
After college, I spent ten years in various administrative and helping professions. Over time, I discovered that my passion is working with people one-on-one and cheering them on through whatever they may be facing. Many of my experiences led me back to school to become a social worker and therapist.
During my MSW program, I was able to gain invaluable experience at a residential facility for teens (Waco Center for Youth) and providing counseling to Special Education students at Midway ISD. After graduating, I spent two years at Communities in Schools at Connally High School, providing case management and counseling services to at-risk teens.
-
I am accepting new clients starting in July. I have late afternoon and evening availability as well as daytime availability for our Lakewood Dallas office or online throughout Texas.
Krista Outside the Office
I grew up in California and Oregon, and moved to Texas in 2017 to be near my sister and my two nieces. As an enneagram 4, I am a HUGE feeler, and feeling with others gives me life! My favorite thing to do is have deep conversations with loved ones, so having those conversations with clients comes naturally and is highly fulfilling.
When not in session, I enjoy cuddling my sweet cat, watching TV with my partner, or playing a good board game with friends. When free time abounds, I love to crochet Amigurumi and cuddle up with a good fantasy book. I am also passionate about working out regularly to help my body take on each day! For trips to get away, I always prefer somewhere with a body of water. The ocean makes me feel ALIVE, but I’ll take a good lake, too. Swimming and jet-skiing are probably my favorite past-times on vacation!
